According to the USDA’s initial estimates, approximately 90 million acres of corn will be planted in 2016.
“Corn area is expected to be increase by 2 million acres to 90 million in 2016 with lower fuel and fertilizer making corn more attractive relative to other crops,” said USDA Chief Economist Robert Johnson. “With higher production and later beginning stocks, corn supplies are project to be record high.”
