With the goal of making service and sales a top priority, Mike Engelbrecht has assumed the position of general manager at Irrigation Specialists, located in Pasco, Washington.
Established in 1970, Irrigation Specialists is one of the largest agricultural irrigation sales and service providers in the Pacific Northwest. It also has additional locations in Grandview and Othello, Washington and Hermiston, Oregon. The company, which has nearly 100 full-time and seasonal employees, sells center pivot and drip irrigation systems as well as residential irrigation parts.
“I’m tremendously excited to have the opportunity to provide unparalleled irrigation sales and service to the growers in our region,” Engelbrecht said. “Water is the life-blood of the diversified agriculture in our area, and our job is to help growers continue to produce abundant crops as efficiently as possible through great sales, service and product support.”
Engelbrecht previously worked for RDO Equipment Company where he held positions of increasing responsibility since 1997, most recently as the division manger of agriculture exports in Hermiston. He also has held positions with Sire Power and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
“Irrigation solutions are more than hardware and technology. Our knowledgeable staff is trained to help design systems to meet any need. We also have a fully-trained team available to quickly fix any problems that may arise, including a licensed electrician, pump trained employees, CAD certified personnel and repair technicians,” he said. “With irrigation, time is money. We have a great pump-repair department that offers the quick, convenient solutions that our customers need.”
Originally from Iowa, Engelbrecht earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Iowa State University, where he majored in dairy science with an emphasis in agricultural business. He and his wife Christina have four children.
