FieldNET® by Lindsay Pivot Control Named Finalist for IrrigationNZ Innovation Award
New Product offers full remote monitoring and variable rate irrigation control
with a simple, economical upgrade
(OMAHA, Neb.) – March 2016 – Lindsay Corporation, maker of Zimmatic® irrigation systems, has announced that FieldNET® by Lindsay Pivot Control is a finalist for the IrrigationNZ Innovation Award. Promoting excellence in irrigation, IrrigationNZ represents the interests of more than 3,600 irrigators and irrigation service providers in New Zealand.
Pivot Control is the industry’s first solution for upgrading almost any brand of pivot to full remote irrigation control and monitoring capabilities. Because it eliminates the need to manage multiple irrigation system brands, it saves time and reduces chances of operator error.
“Irrigators and their support industries are constantly improving on what we do on-farm and how we do it,” said IrrigationNZ chief executive officer Andrew Curtis. “We’re expecting widespread interest in the finalists, as previous winners of the award have gone on to sell their concepts internationally and take on leadership roles within the industry.”
Curtis said the line-up of finalists demonstrates an ongoing investment in innovation. Other finalists include: Next Farm’s smart control systems for grid irrigation, Carrfields Irrigation’s Hydrofix irrigator stabilizer system and Central Plains Water Ltd. for its environmental innovations and management of its stage one development.
“We are very pleased and honored to be nominated for this award,” said Reece Andrews, FieldNET business manager for Lindsay. “Pivot Control is a game changer for growers who want to reduce labor costs and increase overall irrigation efficiency in their operations.”
The winner of the IrrigationNZ Innovation Award will be announced at its conference dinner held in Oamaru, New Zealand on Wednesday, April 6, 2016.
