Lindsay Offers Enhanced Tracking Solutions for Pivots
Options include a new radial pivot tire and an
Extended 5-year warranty on NFTrax Airless Wheel Assembly

(OMAHA, Neb.) – November 2015 – Lindsay Corporation, maker of Zimmatic® irrigation systems, will display a radial pivot tire at the Irrigation Association Show 2015 held Nov. 11-12 in Long Beach, California. The new tire option offers improved performance over standard bias pivot tires.

“We are proud to offer our customers the option of a true radial tire on our pivots” said Christopher Higgins, Zimmatic product manager at Lindsay. “These new radial tires provide strength, flexibility and a flat tread profile for improved flotation and pivot footprint.

Covered by an eight-year limited warranty, the tire fits standard 10 x 38 pivot wheels and needs no tube. Higgins said the tire’s low air pressure means less compaction, fewer ruts and increased footprint in the field.

“Even at lower pressure, the heavy load rating makes this radial tire ideal for corner arm applications,” he said. “The tire’s lug pattern also provides better cleanout in heavy soils and muddy fields, and it has stronger radial construction compared to a bias tire.”

Zimmatic dealer Pat Shanahan of Holzfaster Equipment, Inc. in Ogallala, Nebraska, said one of his customers had chronic problems with an outside tower getting stuck every season.

“Last year we installed radials on that tower before the season started and set it to run where no wheel tracks were visible,” Shanahan said. “We noticed as the season progressed, the radials had a flat appearance compared with their bias-ply counterparts – which were rounded and kept gouging out mud in the track. At the end of the season the track behind those radial tires had very little depth after the whole year.”

Lindsay also has announced that it is now offering a warranty of up to five years on its NFTrax airless wheel assembly. NFTrax is an award-winning airless wheel design that never goes flat and minimizes wheel ruts. The warranty covers all new and existing NFTrax wheels.
