Wireless Technology Provides Fingertip Control of Irrigation Systems

Award-Winning Remote Irrigation Management System Available for Drip and Micro-Irrigation Users

(OMAHA, Neb.) – February 2017 – Access to and control of their entire irrigation operations at any time from anywhere – that’s the benefit growers say they are realizing with award-winning FieldNET® by Lindsay, the industry’s leading wireless irrigation management system.

“From pivots and laterals to drip and micro-irrigation, FieldNET is the industry’s most intuitive and easy-to-use irrigation management system,” said Reece Andrews, new technology product manager at Lindsay Corporation. “It is helping growers reduce risk while saving labor, water, energy and chemical use.”

FieldNET combined with Growsmart® by Lindsay’s MULTI-CONTROL, gives growers 4-in-1 control of entire drip and micro-irrigation systems, including management and control of pumps and valves, fertilizer and chemical injectors, filter flush capabilities and frost protection plans.

“MULTI-CONTROL is an easy-to-use wireless irrigation controller that acts as the point of connection in the field, making the remote control over irrigation pumps, valves, filters and injectors possible,” Andrews said. “The wireless system is especially useful, since it can irrigate individual zones within a field without the need to trench in miles and miles of wire.”

The integrated controller enables growers to quickly schedule flush cycles to run automatically by operation time or pressure differential, easily set up or adjust crop temperature protection as weather conditions change and have unlimited control of water, fertilize and chemical use.

“The irrigation controller on FieldNET makes irrigation management as easy as organizing a music playlist,” Andrews said. “With an Internet connection and a smartphone, tablet or computer, growers can control their entire systems from anywhere.“

Andrews added that FieldNET for micro-irrigation management also can be used to detect problems with an irrigation system, such as leaking or clogged lines, and alert operators to take appropriate action. It also provides growers with the ability to monitor and record water and energy usage along with tank or pond levels.
